YOUR ABILITY TO RATING CHANGES WITH INCREASED BASIS

I often think "How would I have rated this product if I tested it again ?"

Most people probably think that if you give a product another chance later, the review will be less negative, because you have gained more experience since the last time.

I have also believed this, but when I study my own history of tested products, a different reality emerges:
The review becomes even more critical, and in a negative direction.

Here are the indications:
The Tyros 1 appeared as the best in 2008, but when I got a new one again in 2023, I was shocked to discover that it had almost no drum kits, while the keybed appeared to be exceptionally good.

The Roland BK-7m appeared as the ultimate module in 2014 and 2018, while the latest purchase in 2019 revealed that the sound was not particularly good plus the layout was perceived as terrible.

The Pa3X, which I considered the best arranger in 2014, gave a completely different and negative impression in 2018 (the hardware varies), while the last purchase in 2022 was experienced as better, but clearly worse than in 2014 (lousy keybed and difficult to achieve good results with midi to style).

The Ketron Audya 76 did not do very well in 2020, while in 2023 it performed much better because with broader experience I was able to remove all bugs.

So increased experience has meant that today I am far more critical of the keybed, layout and sound quality - in that order.

I am reasonably convinced that if I had tested other products again today, the review would have been far more negative than it was the first time.

Quite simply because today I have a broader experience and know more about everything than before.
