TEST OF GLOBAL SOUNDS ARTIST EDITION 3.3 FOR PA5X
#21
I have one more thought about this pack from the Yamaha user perspective. Aside from all the quality control issues you have found, I do think it fills a niche for those who want ambient/EDM/cinematic genres beyond funk, rock, pop jazz. Yamaha already covers funk, rock, pop, jazz well enough for my needs.

Below video is half hour demo of some of the sounds. I think they sound great, including some of the piano pad combos, some from QR. Even though arrangers don't provide enough sample memory for a superior sounding grand piano, I do find that adding ethereal type pad sounds layered with pianos and effects can create a very satisfying piano playing experience for more cinematic type piano solo pieces.

Despite all my negative comments, the package contains very good styles and very good sounds, and is worth the investment.

The last thing I would say is that Timur needs to work on marketing his new Yamaha arranger sound packs that I mentioned here in another post. So far he has not yet produced any demos of them. He does provide sound lists and file sizes (804MB for the one I want) on his website, but not much more info about them. He did confirm that the sounds are the same as the Korg pack, though there are much less of them. It's hard to commit to that much expansion memory without hearing a demo.

I probably meant the same thing as you.

And even though the sounds are the same, they will be reproduced differently on a Yamaha, because the sound engine is quite different.

Theoretically, the sound could be better, due to Yamaha's XG format which provides extended parameters.
Theoretically.

LACK OF QUALITY CONTROL 11

I have found several styles where Ending 1 is 32 bars long, but does not contain variations, as there is e.g. only 3 bars variation.
Several Intro 1 also lack variations; they may be 8 bars long, but are only based on 3 bars variations.

This becomes very static, and you wait for the style to start or be finished.

They can't be meant to be like this ?
Another lack of quality control ?
