NEW METHOD TO ACHIEVE REAL ACOUSTIC DRUMS UNDER DEVELOPMENT
I have now tried many different things, but have rarely been completely satisfied, as the results have varied enormously.
The strange thing is that I started right, but got off track along the way.
It turns out that Drum Editor has some very powerful features that I haven't tested before, such as Attack, Cutoff and Resonance - even minor adjustments with one of these can produce an effect like no other.
And in MIXER/FX/MFX Send, desired acoustic effects can be achieved by adjusting up the values for FX1, FX2 and FX3 - these are set to 0 by default.
I can use existing filters, as these are mostly acoustic filters, but my clear favorite is O-Verb, which gives great airiness.
I have also found that all filters work best with all parameters at minimum - it is better to increase the values for FX1, FX2 and FX3 instead.
In this way I effectively avoid the problems I have had with compression distortions.
