STYLES WITH 8 VARIATIONS..?

Most arrangers on the market today offer 4 Variations for styles, but no one offers more than 4.
But - did you know that if you have a Korg Pa5X, you can expand the number of Variations using Fills ?

You can program a Variation in all Fills, Breaks and Intros/Endings, and achieve up to 13 Variations, if you choose to only use a single Intro and an Ending.
I did this years ago with Pa3X and midi based styles.

I have chosen to only use Fills, so that we thus get 8 Variations instead of 4.
The art consists in choosing Variations from a style that has as many bars in Variations as the source file.
Also, the two styles should have roughly the same tempo and melodic line.


Styles will soon follow.

Glad you like my idea.
This is a step closer to Kronos, in my opinion.

I will soon have the first style ready, which is a power ballad, created by combining the ballad style Something Ballad with the rock style Uptempo Rock.

I changed the drum kit for Var 1 to 4 to match the new Fills, tweaked the bass a bit and added Ambience for drums and perc.

That`s all.
Quickly done.

I must have been very lucky with the first one, because the next ones I tried to make didn't work.
This work is not for everyone, as a great understanding of how music behaves is required.

I also see that it can be practical to create an overview that shows how many bars, what tempo and time signature each style has in its Variations.

This will make it much easier to find suitable styles.
