Jumping on the Bandwagon

It seems a lot of people are trying to jump on the Bandwagon to re open a PSR Tutorial Forum.

But whilst it was a good platform and had some good resources, rather than trying to re invent the wheel , trying a create something new. But here lies the problem apart from here which is an excellent resource sadly anything new is going to be faced with the same problem of member participation. A lot of the arranger keyboard platforms are closing.

As we all know and credit to Chello it’s not just the maintenance, it’s the cost and upkeep. It’s a lot of work trying to keep them active as well.

Anyhow just my thoughts.

I am afraid that the only possibility for the PSR Tutorial Forum to continue with its content is for a migration to be made, which I doubt will be done.
Who will pay for this significant cost ?

Alternatively, starting a new forum with the same content from scratch is a formidable task that requires painstaking work by several competent administrators/moderators.

In the midst of this, Facebook increasingly takes over the role of forum platform, even though Facebook is unsuitable and very limited in terms of access to necessary administrative functions.

With Facebook, you never know what will happen; content is censored without any possibility of intervention.
Running a forum requires extensive ongoing maintenance, and also requires an advanced platform to meet users' needs.

Several of the world's largest forums are based on dying platforms that have not been continuously updated, and these are all in danger of being shut down as a result of incompetent administrators.

The fact that these crash more and more often is a direct result of lack of maintenance.

It wouldn't surprise me if Korg Forums is the next to be shut down.

I can remember the outcry when Wikifonia shut down. That was a good site.
