So another hour of the Korg Webinar wasted, a whole hour spent on two songbook entries no discussion about the Pa5x to reassure owners of any pending upcoming updates. Such a missed opportunity once again.
It would be much better in a magazine type format with different sections for beginners and more advanced users.

Thank you for the information.
Korg Webinar has no future; saying a few words about pending update should be a minimum requirement, and when they don't mention this in one word, they lose all credibility.

Even if I had the money at this stage I wouldn’t part with my cash. Yes the 5ax has its good points and is in a different league to the Pa700 that I have now, but it’s stable I’ve never had it crash or freeze on me. And it pretty much does what I want.
Stand an out of the box Pa700 next to mine and all the time and effort I’ve spent working on content and really get it sounding it’s best.
None of what I’ve learned has come from a webinar all self taught (with some help from Chello) but I wish there was other Pa700 owners on the same level as me that I could bounce ideas of and collaborate with.

I also wouldn't have bought the Pa5X today, when I know how many functions don't work.
I had bought the Kronos LS88 instead, which is the most updated and most functional version.
Kronos will be purchased sooner or later anyway.
Your Pa700 is probably the best performing of all Pa; everything is done properly, and it offers more value for money than any other model on the market, regardless of manufacturer.

It would be nice if there was more sample ram, or even more banks for user sounds, they soon fill up.
I know every company wants to push the sales of their top of the line models, but I imagine the sales of the Pa700 would / should be quite high.
A lot of people put their toes in the water as they venture from Yamaha Arrangers, and go back as the waters too cold with out giving it time. It’s like they come over to Korg expecting a carbon copy of their Yamaha Arranger and give up at the first hurdle.
All the sounds / keyboard sets continuously evolve and change that I’ve created even small changes can make a difference.
Im probably like you Chello when I sit down and work on something I want to stay focused and creating further. Other people may not be interested but it’s such a shame other members are not interested in creating content.

It would be nice if there were more sample ram, or even more banks for user sounds, they soon fill up.
The manufacturers should have made the mid-range models upgradeable with the possibility of significantly more sample RAM, while the top models should have been delivered with max RAM.
It's ridiculous to ship a top model such as the OASYS with 1GB of RAM, when you need 2GB to get the full benefit of it.
All the sounds / keyboard sets continuously evolve and change that I've created even small changes can make a difference.
It takes very small changes to achieve radical results; especially if these changes are made throughout the system.
Im probably like you Chello when I sit down and work on something I want to stay focused and creating further. Other people may not be interested but it's such a shame other members are not interested in creating content.
There are not many people like you and me, who like to create something, and preferably something new.
This is a general mentality - most people want everything ready-made, while I insist on the possibility of changing everything.
Work like this also requires considerable knowledge, and perhaps the lack of this is the reason why members do not show interest, because they do not understand the processes.
Those who read our technically focused articles should at least have shown respect for our efforts by pressing Thank You, but most people seem to have received a deficient upbringing in basic folk customs.
My upbringing is different - I always give thanks as long as there is a minimum basis for doing so.

Hi ALL,
I realize your talking about Korg Keyboards hear, but after 4 years of using VSTs and Varranger2 software I have eventually bought another Hardware Arranger in this case a entry level Yamaha SX600 , why a very basic entry keyboard , because there is nothing on it I dont use , no vocal harmonizer , noy chord looper or sequencer just a very basic bit of kit, but for £620 it was the best value keyboard for me , after owning various keyboards and synths I have come to the conclusion bigger or better is not always true its what meets your needs that count.

@Bill
Thanks for your interesting input.
bigger or better is not always true its what meets your needs that counts.
I absolutely agree with what you are saying.
Almost all models in all price ranges have a number of functions (features, lol) that most people never get to use.
The more expensive, the more features (which we don't use).
The art consists in finding the keyboard that only has the functions you need, but this is almost impossible - the SX600, DGX-670 and Pa700 are probably the models on the market that give the most in relation to what they cost.
The Pa700 is the only affordable model I know of that has many of the same advanced features as the Pa5X, and thus appears in a class of its own.
When it comes to software, this picture is almost even worse, because development is moving towards increasingly complex functions, which many people have no use for.
I remember my first Cubase from 1994, which was simply structured with a good overview of basic functions, which made it easy to work with.
Today's Cubase is insanely complicated and messy regardless of the version.
The industry seems to have forgotten what the user wants.
I would say that the simple is often the best.

Exactly if what you have meets your needs then stay with it.
Besides the features that never get used same could be said about sounds which never get used on an Arranger.
When you venture into layering and modelling sounds you experiment with sounds that you maybe have never used before.
Thinking out of the box in this way can yield some excellent results.
But layering the sounds is just the tip of the iceberg learning how well sounds sit in a mix, how you can enhance the weaker sounds.
Learning what tools you have at your fingertips and how to shape your sounds:- filters, Eq, Envelopes, Effects.
Most important thing of all is Listening to the changes.
Remember to keep backups of before and after.
Sounds are a bit like a starter for sourdough bread you have the starter from that you can get 100s of loafs of bread.
