Compression First Hurdle Korg

Having watched the video and read Qui s post about compression.

Looking at both the Stereo Compressor and Dynamic Compressor have some similarities you will see in software plugins but then others have different names,

   
   

As you see in the above photos in the case of Stereo Compressor you have Sensitivity which if I’m correct is the same as Threshold.

Attack is the same.

But then there is level which thinking about it would like the ratio ?

For the Dynamic Compressor

You have envelope select ?
Sensitivity and Attack which are the same as above.

Then you have Eq, and output level which would possibly be the same as gain ?

Next question would in the case of our Korg only be used as an insert or as a send on a bus ?

Ive experimented with the wet / dry and output level.

I find the wet / dry is equivalent to the gain parameter on a compression plugin.

Ratio should be same as Pre LEQ & Pre HEQ..?

These values determine the quantitative relationship between LEQ & HEQ, which (LEQ & HEQ) are every filter's most important parameters, as they influence the overall effect more than anything else.

Only Qui can give a definitive answer.

I did experiment on the concert grand piano, but found I had to cut the pre eq low value.

I also experimented by changing the wet dry level and the output level.

Once I found something that I thought sounded ok I added the dual reverb.

My ear was telling me that playing in the upper octaves sounded brighter, but the low frequencies needed to be cut.

Yes, there is a release parameter - the final part of the envelope is called release.
