Bio: I'm Brazilian, and I've been playing keyboards as a hobby since 1990. I enjoy instrumental music and film soundtracks. I like to customize styles and find new sounds to add to my PA5X.

I will try doing as you said, adding ambience instead of reverb, and see the difference. Maybe I can get better results :)
I like to convert and adjust styles almost as much as I enjoy playing the songs.
I have many more "ongoing" conversions. Some sound very bad since the beggining and are more difficult. Also I intend to learn more about how to create guitar tracks or maybe hear the easest way is to hear many of the factory styles and select some suitable guitar tracks that can be "borrowed". St the moment I'm more focused on instrumental/cinematic styles.

I have learned how to add reverb professionally to drum kits, but I don't like the result compared to Genuine Ambience.
A standard reverb setup ruins the bass drum's attack, but even if the effect is adjusted so that it doesn't affect the bass drum, something negative happens to the bass drum's attack.
I also use LOW EQ for the bass drum with the Style Editor and MID EQ for all other active drum elements - sometimes several dB for MID EQ, because this also triggers the ambience.
You will easily see what I have done by studying a style I have edited.
Probably even better results can be achieved by adjusting the EQ less than I have done; I have chosen high values to demonstrate the difference.
I mostly only use artificial reverb on drums that have not recorded Genuine Ambience, such as Dance kits.
Several internal GM and XG Dance kits, however, have Genuine Ambience recorded and can be used instead of Factory drums.
GM and XG have a higher degree of Genuine Ambience than others.
When it comes to finding suitable guitar tracks from factory styles, the Pa5X's Dual Player comes into its own - by starting 2 styles at the same time and activating tempo lock, you can play one or more tracks at a time by marking mute/solo and using the slider, and easily and quickly find suitable tracks.
Hi Chello, I agree with you and I think I should learn more about ambience and also more about the effects in order to improve my conversions. Indeed I would like to learn more technically about the many different built-in effects and their parameters. I already tried some of them but usually end choosing the Overb because I like the result.
Could you tell what is the topic that demonstrates the equalization adjustments for improving the drum ambience? I would like to check it.
About GX and XG internal drum kits, I checked the drum samples of some of them and it seems to me that the GM kits have better quality and uses many drum samples of the normal kits (some with layers), while the XG seems seems worse, with more common samples with no layers. I havent checked all of them, but some that I was needing to my conversions. It would be nice to have good quality drum kits fully compatible with most Yamaha styles, even if they sounded a bit different. I have a personal project about oing it and already made some tests of sampling Yamaha styles and also remaping internal styles to match the Yamaha one.
Regarding the dual player, yes! it is very handy and I use it often to mix styles or find suitable tracks for the edition.

I have made 2 tutorials for Drum Editor before - one for EQ, and one for Ambience.
I always start with EQ and continue with Ambience.

Firstly thank you for the new conversions, and the very interesting comments in this feed. Previously as Chello knows I was doing some work on styles and custom styles on my Pa700 when I was also experimenting with dual reverb. As mentioned before the nut I’ve yet to crack is intro 1 and ending 1 when combining style parts.

Your Pa700 styles are a mystery.
They have massively incorrect transpositions, but changing them or changing CV or anything else doesn't help.
I don't have similar problems doing the same thing as you with the Pa5X; in fact, never have - only with the Style Creator Bot, but this can almost always be solved by choosing the correct transposition for all tracks.

I know that the intro1 and ending1 are like a fixed recording and all tracks I be are in no transpose mode so when the tracks are copied from one style to another the tracks stay in the key of the donar style. I think the only it to manually transpose the tracks to the same key your copying to

Correct.
But your styles can only be corrected on the Pa700 - they cannot be corrected with the Pa5X once converted.
It seems that the same thing happens with the Pa700 as with the Style Creator Bot on the Pa5X; multiple ACCs get different transposition keys.
This is something Korg is messing with, because I have used EMC Style Factory for years for the same task and never experienced this problem, and have used tracks from all supported brands and models.
So Klaus Geller was smarter than Korg.
