TEST of Pa5X OS update v1.1.0

The long-promised upgrade has finally become available, and I've started testing how it works.

First step: Backup of all files, which is quickly done.
Second step: Downloading packaged PKG update file.
Third step: Unpacking PKG file to USB stick.

Problems arose here, because the file could not be decompressed - for unknown reasons.
The file was downloaded a second time and now allowed itself to be decompressed.

By turning off the keyboard and then holding Intro 1 and push Power, the process began as normal, but after a short time it stopped with the error message "System Update Failed - please turn the instrument off".

After turning it back on, the process resumed normally, and the keyboard started up again - finished updating.
Everything seems to work, and all personal USER data is intact, which is pleasantly surprising.

PS:
Some have reported that Pa5X does not work after updating the OS - all functions "freeze".


A follow-up feature test will be performed and added to this test soon.

OS UPDATE FOR KORG PA5X NOT WORKING

I couldn't notice any change in speed when I changed styles quickly, and checked in the system to see if the latest OS version had been installed.

IT WASN'T.

I tried to run the installation a second time and after reaching 52% encountered the error message "System Update Failed - please turn the instrument off".

When I rebooted, the message "System Care in progresss" appeared, but the new OS has not been installed.

In other words, Korg has spent 6 months creating an update that doesn't work at all.

NEW OS INSTALLED SUCCESSIVELY ON PA5X

Several people online believed that the reason that the installation would not complete had to be due to the PKG file being corrupt.

After trying a third time, the installation continued after passing 52%, which took 54 seconds.
After rebooting the keyboard, the installation finished with "Rebuilding preload buffer..." and then Saving preload buffer..."

Everything seems to be working and I can go through all the features and test these as planned.

Pa5X v1.1 – New Features in OS 1.1.0

I have tested all announced changes and all of them work.

Second Player starting in sync with the first one:
This is now very well synchronized, but both players do not stop when pressed Ending - Player 2 must be stopped manually, and only the Stop function can be used.

Fills is now working properly, although this is not discussed. In the past, Fills occasionally started 1 bar too late, but this hasn't happened so far after the update.
The start of styles is now significantly faster, and it is clearly noticeable that synchronization is generally optimized.

A new feature has been added - Scale/Tuning page added to Style Edit/Record mode - you can now program a sub-scale for each Style Element, and enable the sub-scale on each track of the Style Element.
Pa5X can now truly be called "International", and users from far away continents will surely appreciate this new feature.


A new category of Pads has been added, with a whole new bank of Synth Pads.

Many things in the layout have positively changed, and everything now happens faster and is more stable.

Also, I clearly notice that the sensitivity of the keybed's right split is dramatically improved - the keys respond better; It is much easier to play with variable sensitivity than before, as the response is perceived as extended both downwards and upwards expressively.


All in all, Korg has done a formidable job with this update, as everything promised has actually been done.
