TEST OF KRK ROKIT RP5 G4 MONITORS (CLASSIC)

KRK Rokit RP5 G4 is a studio quality Reference Monitor for music producers and sound engineers, delivering highly transparent sound made specifically for mixing down and mastering.
Assembly / preparation for use:
The speakers come in two solid boxes, and are easy to place.
Simple manual included.
All connections are of good quality, and there are both RCA, big TRS (jack) and XLR.
Fine adjustment of treble / midrange can be done in 4 fixed steps with 2 rotary potentiometers: HF level -2dB to + 1dB / LF level -2dB to + 2dB.
The underside of the speakers is provided with a non-slip rubber mat.
1st start-up:
It turned out that it is impossible to get a usable perspective with these monitors - regardless of setup.
The perspective is simply not present.
Briefly about daily use:
Audio editing often involves many different processes, each of which can take a long time.
It is extremely annoying that the monitors turn off automatically after about 30 minutes of inactivity, much because it takes quite a few seconds to reactivate them.
This alone is enough to make them useless for the purpose, because the function can not be turned off.
Sound quality:
Many have said a lot of good things about these, but I must honestly say:
The sound is sharp and intrusive regardless of adjustment from midrange upwards.
The bass lacks details, and appears cloudy.
In addition, there are noises from the poorly designed port.
There are audible problems around the units' crossover frequencies, because the sound changes far more than what the potentiometers shows - it is not a matter of a few dB, but several.
The sound becomes intolerable if the potentiometers are adjusted to zero or higher.
As if this is not enough, distortion becomes apparent even at moderate volume, and the amplifiers have clear problems delivering enough power.
Pros:

*Zero perspective
*Non-HiFi sound reproduction
*Poorly designed port
*Weak amplifier
*Auto Power turns off too fast, takes too long to turn on again, and cannot be turned off.
Final conclusion:
NOT PASSED
These monitors do not live up to what is expected of monitors, because this first of all requires a neutral reproduction.
The sound is by no means neutral, and also sharp and unpleasant.
I have tested them for a long time with Genos, Pa3X, Audya and Kronos, but they work unsatisfactorily with all of them.
They can therefore not be recommended, and I really wonder about the expertise of those who have recommended them in various magazines.
