HOW TO SUPER EFFICIENTLY USE PADS
I have always found that pads overwork a style, and the reason for this is very obvious:
A modern style already has 8 active tracks, and if you also activate all 4 pads, you get 12 active tracks..!
This is simply too much.
So the real solution is to alternately deactivate some tracks in different parts, but this is not possible due to a bug that never seems to be fixed.
By chance I found a better way, and that is by permanently muting unwanted tracks in all parts; Combo style.
By using pads in Combo styles, you can activate each individual pad wherever and whenever you want (also in intro/ending) and really expand the dynamic range.
I find this way of playing infinitely more engaging than with traditional styles, and pads have been given a new status that all programmers seem to have forgotten.
All styles I have tested so far are better as a Combo with custom pads.
