What is music really ?

Artificial intelligence would give this definition:
Music is the art of arranging sounds in time to create a desired emotional or aesthetic effect, typically involving elements like rhythm, melody, harmony, and timbre.

This is very much in line with my own opinion.

If we look at popular music, it is almost always controlled by a vocalist, who has a text to convey, while the text and effects on stage override the musical message - the music becomes a tool to convey the text and effects, which are the actual message.

Most vocalists live a dissolute life of drinking and fornication, in order to be able to feed new texts, which are essentially about the same thing over and over again, and the musical content is subordinate and non-existent.

Of course, there are good vocalists who use their voice as an instrument, but there are few of them.

Even a trained musician tends to stick to what he has learned, and gets stuck in a repetitive pattern.

All musicians - even the best in the world - have a pattern that they repeat, but they HAVE THEIR OWN, and this is precisely what has made them famous and unique.

A musician who is able to turn a familiar but boring melody into a hit has something special.
