STYLE CREATION - DIFFERENT MODELS = DIFFERENT RESULTS

I have always worked with 2 models, and have therefore observed different results; especially when a style is converted from one brand to another.

This almost always gives a certain number of errors and shortcomings/limitations in the form of certain chords not being correct, which is largely determined by the complexity of the chords.

In some cases, the necessary sound will also be impossible to recreate, which gives intolerable noises that cannot be removed completely - but drums can often be fixed with the Pa5X's Drum Editor.

When it comes to styles from midi created with e.g. Style Works, the problem is limited to sounds - chords are rarely affected, but it happens that sounds cannot be recreated, which gives noises that cannot be removed, because the sound does not have a substitute equivalent sound on your model.

This means that if you create a style from midi for Yamaha, it will sound quite different if you also create it for Korg, Ketron or Roland (or whatever else).

I have worked with most of the more advanced models, and the Korg Pa5X appears to be the best-suited model by far.
The Pa4X is considerably more difficult, while the Pa3X is even more difficult.
The Pa2X is the best-suited model before the Pa5X, which is probably due to the large sound library it has.

The second-best-suited model among all brands is the Yamaha Tyros4, which gives good results with almost all formats, while the A-3000 gives the best sound, closely followed by the DGX-670.
The A-3000 also has the best joystick Yamaha has ever made.
The A-3000 actually sounds better than the Genos with the Ghenos Plus package installed..!
Genos is the worst of all models when it comes to making converted styles sound good, and the same goes for styles from midi.
This is very strange, considering that Genos has a large sound library, which is also XG.

The Ketron Audya is almost as good as the Tyros4 when it comes to converted styles, but has better drum kits and much better keys and gives better sound.

The Roland (BK-7m) gives worse results when converting than all the models mentioned here - only Genos is worse.


My preferred models for conversion are as follows in order:

Pa5X
Tyros4
Audya
A-3000
DGX-670
Pa2X
Pa4X
BK-7m
Pa3X
Genos

Finally, I have to mention the Yamaha PSR-9000 Pro, which is in many ways as good as the Pa5X, but has the best keybed among all arrangers, and gives a cleaner sound than the Pa5X.
The 9000 Pro unfortunately has far worse effects that are difficult to adjust, but gives a very open and dynamic sound image if you ignore the effects; a dry, but very good sound.
