AN IMPORTANT KEY TO STYLE MAKING FOUND

Creating styles from scratch on the keyboard is probably something I will never spend time on, because this is colossally labor-intensive.
I use midi songs instead, and extract what I find interesting from these.

For many years I also used certain melody tracks in variations, but this should be avoided, because this requires that the exact right chord is used; otherwise everything goes very wrong.

I have recently made a great discovery which means that I can still use almost all the melody tracks I want:
There are many songs that use almost the same chord throughout the song, and these are better suited than others to create styles from, because they can be programmed as Playback, which means that the chords will be correct almost regardless of which one you use.

This is a technique I have used for years, but only for styles with 1 to 2 bars in variations, which works very well.
If 4 or more bars are used, everything becomes much more difficult, but if the song is based on a few chords, this still works well.

It is also worth experimenting with sounds other than the original; also with completely different types of sounds.
My goal is usually to create styles that no one else creates, that stand out from everyone else - not all musicians want songstyles..!

For me personally I think song styles can be quite limiting look at the styles on Genos 2 a lot of them are based around songs, less and less generic styles seem to be included. 

I like generic styles because they can be used with multiple songs and different arrangements of songs can be created using them.

Question you have to ask yourselves is do you want to play a style that sounds like the original recording or do you want to put your own stamp on a song and your arrangement.
