GENOS 2 WITH DX7 - A TOTAL DETRAIL ?
I couldn't believe what I saw when Yamaha launched the G2, focusing on the DX7.
Although the DX7 is considered one of the best synths of all time, I do not share this opinion.
I've been going to concerts almost every weekend for many years, and the DX7 was initially a positive addition to a band's instrumentation, but my excitement waned pretty quickly, as I found the DX7 more and more synthetic.
I know from experience that when you can't bear to listen to an instrument, something is not working optimally.
I also remember my Tyros 4 anniversary, which had the RAM card full of DX7, as a special gesture from Yamaha.
By the way, the card was defective - it was impossible to delete all the contents, which I never had any use for.
I can't stand the sound of the DX7, and the same goes for the time period - the 80's stand out to me as the worst of all in terms of musical development, with the DX7, electronic drums, primitive electronic effects boxes, which together produced a sharp, thin and intrusive sound - together with musicians such as Phil Collins.
Yamaha has made a very strange choice when they have made an arranger that is specially adapted to the 80's cruel soundscape.
Korg has done much the same, with the big difference that their synths have always set the tone in the market, and have set new standards.
DX7 is much like making a bagpipe digital.
So the Genos 2 appears to me as an electronic bagpipe...
