THEORY OF USING HEADSETS VS HORNS FOR MIXING CONFIRMED

There is a broad consensus within the industry that good quality headsets should be used for critical sound mixing.

Nevertheless - I experience daily that (State of the Art) horn speakers are better suited; especially where acoustics are concerned.

Just now I did my first mixing with the horn speakers, and found that everything I did especially with acoustic adaptations was much easier to get right.

With headsets, I constantly find that I have to correct the acoustics afterwards when the style is played with the horn speakers.

Probably very few are in my situation - that horn speakers are better than a good headset.
They also provide a level of detail in acoustics and dynamics that the headset cannot - not even my STAX.

With reservation...I  agree with the above but we have to take into account that after mixing with headphones, then playing back through speakers also adds the additional now unwanted room acoustics, which may double our initial settings.

Very precisely worded by you - this is precisely what I am trying to say.

Now I am in a slightly special situation, as my listening room is almost as well dampened as a sound studio - there is almost no acoustics.
If I play with normal speakers, quite a lot of power is required to achieve the desired sound.

But since I'm using horn speakers, these add the original acoustics that I added with all clarity, and if I've mixed a bit badly, this is immediately revealed.
In a normal listening room, the acoustics would be dramatically (doubled) louder.
