GENOS2 AND ITS "AMAZING" NEW FEATURES
It is now over a month since the launch, but still no one has made a convincing demo of the new functions Dynamic Control and Ambience.
What is so difficult about something so simple ?
I make demos of the Pa5X almost every day, and these require a lot more work than equivalent demos for the G2.
Are no demos being created because these features are not working as intended ?

Reading reports that many owners of Genos 1 instead of changing to G2 are keeping G1 and purchasing an additional Korg Pa5X.
This choice gives a good alternative combination.

I have read the same thing and this should give anyone and everyone something to think about.
There is also a growing number of users who have had both the G1, G2 and Pa5X who say the Pa5X is the best choice.
So Yamaha has by no means succeeded in making a G2 that is better than either the G1 or the Pa5X.
The Ketron Event is said to perform at least as well as the Pa5X, but has a very complicated and unmanageably different layout to what both Yamaha and Korg have.
PS:
I've never understood why Yamaha doesn't spend a little extra money to give the DGX series more resources - the DGX-670 has better acoustic pianos than the Genos, and the best keybed of all the Yammies (although I say the T1 has the best, the DGX is best), plus all sounds are as good as anyone else's.
I've often thought about what would have been possible if you doubled the DGX-670's price...
The DGX is the only model I could think of buying, and an updated more advanced one would surely have swept all competitors to sea.
So, Yamaha: Please make a DGX-680 - for ME.

A Yamaha customer support member stated DGX is not sold in large quantities...Myself I'm not so sure about that. Possibly Yamaha doesn't promote it because the profit returns are lower.
With the lack of general coverage of the DGX670 model it's not brought to the customers attention.
Even with my health problems I push myself to play everyday because of the DGX high quality voice samples and with a key-bed that's a joy to play.
Remembering my previous board was Tyros5-76 which was good, but I get as much pleasure playing the DGX670 at a fraction of price.

The DGX-670 is, in my opinion, the best on the market in its price range (and far above).
It has the best keybed and the best voices.
Degree of playing pleasure is something that really reveals the truth about an instrument.
The closest competitor to the DGX-670 is the Pa700, which is far more advanced, but has a far worse keybed and not quite as good voices.

I haven`t been up to posting anything lately, but to answer your question its a con. The first three buttons on the sliders allow you to add or subtract more emphasis to the style however you can`t save it, its limited and useless in the real world.
nowhere does it say dynamic control, which is why no ones demonstrating it.
the new reverb is hidden in the mixer section and with the exception of movie themes seems wasted.
Also the styles, old types aren`t the same as the originals sometimes missing elements others more pronounced.
The overall sound 10% better but i just can`t get away i spent so much money for something that could of been done on a upgrade.

Many thanks for your brief but precise description of the G2 and its new features.
It gives a good answer to my question; I now perfectly understand why no one has demonstrated these effects.
In a way, Yamaha has gotten worse, because before advanced edits could be saved as RGT, but now some can't be saved at all.
Congratulations, Yamaha - you've ruled yourself out.
