MUSICIANS AND THEIR POLITICAL BELIEFS

Some may now think that I am going to break this forum's strictest law, but I will not.
I would only like to remind you that musicians are free to perform their music, regardless of their political beliefs.

However, everything has a limit, even if politics is kept out:
Imagine that Adolf Hitler was alive and a brilliant musician - I would never have allowed him to play a note in my forum, because everything has a limit, and so it must be.

Some time ago I refused to play or adapt music by Neil Young, as a result of his extreme political opinions - he has always been known to speak for the rights of ordinary people, but suddenly turned completely and was in favor of introducing dictatorial laws, which restricted people's fundamental rights.

Many world-renowned musicians use music as a weapon to promote their political beliefs, and these will never have a place in this forum.

This is precisely why Rap is a genre I strongly dislike, because its message is primarily text-based with a clear political content.

In my opinion, music should never serve a political purpose, although this has always been practiced.

We musicians must keep making music; not politics.
