AUTO POWER ON ? - NO THANKS !
As a direct result of the world's hysterical environmental activists' demands to "save the environment", electronics manufacturers have been required to offer the option of Auto Power On.
Your keyboard probably has this, and you can (hopefully) choose for yourself whether you want to use the function or not.
If, however, you have KRK studio monitors, you cannot choose - they switch off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.
I have had 2 models of these, and both were useless for monitoring, precisely because they switched off just when I was going to use them - several times every day; and I quickly got so annoyed that I got rid of them.
In any case, they were unsuitable for monitoring.
It is claimed that this function saves the environment, while the opposite is the case; This increases consumption and production, which is unlikely to help save the environment.
You may save a little power, but this results in significantly greater wear and tear on the electronics, because the components (especially capacitors) are constantly being cooled and reheated, which shortens their life dramatically.
A typical reaction is to turn it back on immediately, which should definitely be avoided, as this effectively wears out the capacitors, because they don't get a chance to passively discharge before they have to actively rebuild their capacity by first discharging completely, which also actually requires an unnecessary amount of power.
Capacitors require about 10 seconds of rest before restarting to get rid of capacitance - they always have to be rebuilt from zero when the device is powered up.
Therefore, it is important that you wait 10 seconds before restarting something that has just turned off.
Do it this way, and your equipment will last much longer than otherwise.
