NEVER TRUST DEMOS
#1
Information
NEVER TRUST DEMOS
I have finally learned, but this has cost a lot of money and given many frustrating moments.

I remember very well what woke me up:
The purchase of Genos1.

I bought it because the demo by Peter Baartmans convinced me.
I should have looked more closely at what he actually did.
What did he do ?

He had his own USB stick connected from the start.
I noticed very well what he did when he demonstrated how easily it was possible to change the position of the microphones for pianos, and when I had my G1, I ran the video frame by frame and did exactly the same thing as him, with nothing happening.
I desperately tried ALL pianos, with the same result.

The only explanation I could find was that the thug Peter had special samples that he used for the demo.
Fraud & Deception.

Now when I see Peter Baartmans demonstrating the G2, I see no USB stick, but notice that he uses the RGT effectively throughout the session.
The few times he doesn't do this, there is absolutely nothing impressive about the sound quality.

To my knowledge, the demonstration of Genos1 was based on samples that do not exist originally, but must be purchased separately.

It wouldn't surprise me if the same is true for Genos2, because most of the demos have terrible sound quality.

I am not buying it, as I bought the Genos1, which I was very unhappy with - because it did not have the sound that was demonstrated.

Peter Baartmans is an excellent musician and a likeable person, but I see no reason to trust what he presents - watch both videos if you want, and get what I say confirmed.

The Korg Pa5X has had many demos, but none as atrocious as the G1 and G2.
And there is no need to buy anything extra; only simple edits are necessary to achieve the same as the best demos have provided - in fact even better.

IM s little on the fence here,
I agree the G2 is overpriced  £4999 but in reality you can get it for £4399 and px at 2.4k for something that ive had 6years isnt so bad.
The Pa5x seems a relative bargain with what it offers, but is not popular because of the illogical way you have to save everything its just mot user friendly. In the UK p5 76 is £3200 now
Sound quality is subjective, Chello doesn`t like the pianos I really like them on the G1i bought sample pianos that were excellent.
That might explain PB demos. P5 synth ambient sounds  are excellent (more for orchestral pieces) but some of bread and butter sounds not so.
I totally agree with the demo`s poorly demonstrated missing the demographic its aimed at.
As sad as i am to say, Leigh Weibraham has done some good videos its a shame he alienates himself to everyone due to arrogance and self importance.
Where i do disagree is on Launch the P5 had some equally poor demonstrations.
My friend has just got his G2 and says the sound quality is unbelievable I shall have to hear it for myself.
I won`t sell my PA5X because if they got there act together it could be the diamond that we know it is. We have heard what can be accomplished Qui robinez styles sounds etc, but it becomes redundant as he does`nt want to sell his stuff. Korgs biggest failure is lack of tutorials, meaningful updates and customer service. Yamaha though have had a series of how to`s since the launch.
I know a lot of dealers have gone all in on buying as many G2 as they can but after the initial frenzy I believe they will have to heavily discount due to the luke warm reception its had.
Yamaha could upgrade by adding yc organs, revamping style creator adding Sart3.
Which brings me back to the G1 which you can pick up for 2.2k which i think is excellant value for people moving up from other yamaha.
Korg and Yamaha are like Audi and Bmw they excel at different things but rarely manage to cross over into each others territory.

The next 6 months should be interesting because both brands could benefit from the others marketing blunders and relaunch their products to entice customers on the fence

I was initially very impressed by the Yamaha presented demos but over the past few days as more demos have been produced by many people of differing technical ability I have to say that my opinion is changing. The opening song demo by Martin Harris is very good with the Middle Eastern style but let's be fair how many Genos 2 owners would play this every day? probably not a lot.
This had led be back to the quality of the Pa5x which I think is more 'honest' if thats the right word. Yes, they do need tweaking but I can't really see much difference between the sound (not style) quality of the 2.

That is why i say you can go there and go there my experience is i must test a instrument at my home,

listen to a instrument in a store can be so disappointment

i always want test a instrument in my home there i will hear how good or how bad a instrument sounds personely for me

That is why i not go to nie app Grongen to hear the Yamaha Genos 2

In a store you can not good hear how the instrument sound  at my home i must test it

this evening i get my Yamaha Genos 2

people say good things and bad things about the Genos 2

I must hear it with my own ears  i am sure i place the Genos 2 and play For 10 minutes    i will know how good  or how badhe will sound

I hope it will not be a big disappointment  , he must be good very good i know the Korg Pa5x sound Amazing and i still say that

I hope i can say the same about Genos 2

If not and it will be a disappointment  , i will go back to Korg  Pa5x  100%  i know the qualitative of the korg

But than i think i will never go back to Yamaha it will cost money but than i know how good both are

This is the only way to do it an witch one is the best for me

Mr sjoert  say sound perfect but he want sell  he really dont mint what is the true  he want sell instruments

And you all have right the put a usb in the keyboard and not a standard keyboard  the program it so that everything sound good

But ok soon i wil find out the Genos 2 is payed this weekend i have pay all the money and if it is every euro wort  i will fint out by myself

And i will be honest i let you know how good or how bad he is    hope i make the right choice so that people can follow me to buy a Genos 2 or not

59 59 59 59 59 59

But one thing i think i must restart all over with installing the Genos 2 i think registrations will not work on Genos 2  i think everyting must be done again for every song

Rob
Genos2 is probably much better than what the demos show, but the question must be what needs to be done by the user for this to become a reality.
Pa5X only requires minimal edits - is this also the case for G2 ?

And all your previous RGTs have limited utility, as transferring old RGTs to a newer device has always resulted in missing data, many advanced edits are not recreated.

You should test G2's Songbook, as it contains extensive edits made with RGT, which will be able to give a truer picture of G2's qualities.

I have not yet heard a keyboard that sounds good out of its box.

All Keyboard brand demonstrations are tweaked just as we ourselves do after first purchasing.

What puzzles me is why don't these manufactures provide us with a tweaked product out of the box.
They would answer that they provide a blank canvas to enable the buyer to adjust to his/her individual liking !!!

This reminds me of one of my dealers who stated he took a part exchange organ in for a new model. The partex still had the original setting & sound that this dealer did on delivery 4 years earlier.

Graham
Your wisdom is great.
You say something that people should really think about.

Why don't the manufacturers offer a customized product where all facilities are utilized to give the best possible result ?
For every taste ?

The organ you mention is an example of how sometimes everything is done correctly without subsequent adjustments being necessary.

Another example of this is Kronos, where everything has been tweaked to perfection - for every taste.
I never adjusted anything on the Kronos.
It was much the same with the DGX-670, which was better tweaked than other models.

They can if they want to, but they don't want to...
