Whilst I was selling Calrec UK Condenser Microphones, Calrec were testing a Tannoy Dual Concentric speaker in an IMF Transmission Line cabinet.
As we were supplying the BBC (BritishBroadcasting) with microphones, they asked if they could test the Tannoy-IMF speaker.
We arranged an after hours demonstration at BBC in London Studios where they played back some recordings from that day's live music sessions which did sound excellent.
The BBC engineers stated they thought the Tannoys sounded a little bright but then they explained that their own studio speakers did lack top end so they always falsely boosted those frequencies, so the Tannoys-IMF were in fact correct and a very enjoyable evening for me.
