AS A KEYBOARDIST YOU CREATE YOUR OWN MASTER TRACKS AND HAVE ALL THE POSSIBILITIES

Before I started playing keyboards, I was envious of all the studios that had access to master recordings.
I've always loved editing sound, but was limited to ready-mixed recordings, where I didn't have the opportunity to influence each individual instrument/track.

Using graphic equalizers did not solve any problems; only worsened them.
Parametric equalizers were a little better, because you could hit an exact frequency spectrum precisely.
As software, equalizers also often had a variable Q value, which increased accuracy a little more.

In any case, it was (and is) impossible to achieve the desired edit with equalizers, precisely because the recordings were not master recordings, which give individual access to each track and each instrument separately.

It is therefore very strange to note that many keyboard players (most) do not see and understand what they are doing when they use Master EQ.
What happens when they use this ?

If you have a style where the grand piano lacks warmth, you plus regulate the range 50-250Hz.
Great.
What's not great though is that ALL instruments get this edit, which gives a bunch of unwanted results as the other instruments get more warmth, umble, body, weight, smack, energy, punch, thump, boom, mud, thickness , wood, girth, honk, fullness, low end, pressure - depending on which instruments are found in the style.
This is because 50-250Hz affects different instruments differently.

Master EQ should only be used for marginal adjustments which may well have an acoustic basis, and NEVER to correct individual instruments.
For this, you should ALWAYS use individual EQ for each instrument in each track - this is the very point of having access to a master recording, and the only correct way to edit it.
Shared knowledge provides increased knowledge
Do the least possible and achieve the most possible
If we all share everything we have, we all have everything
Every theory is only a hypothesis until it is practically proven
