Oh What A Beautiful Morning .. Chris’s STYLE
Keeping an eye on Chris’s LARGE SHEETS with Yamaha STYLES uploads I have come across this one ...
https://chellos-keyboard-players-club.co...RGE-SHEETS
... so have downloaded same.
When wanting to play something I always have difficulty finding VOICES that will suit the song, as at the end of the day I am turning a VOCAL piece into an INSTRUMENTAL, which to me has to have it’s own distinctive sound.
With a Yamaha STYLE one can always check out what voices they reckon will go well with the Style Variations as all Yamaha Styles have One Touch Settings set up.
If the OTS LINK is not lit up, then turn it ON.
Pressing each MAIN VARIATION in turn will activate the VOICES Yamaha have chosen to go with it.
So MAIN VARIATION A ..
.. will correspond to the 1 being lit up. The only voice selected for this OH WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING STYLE is R1.
But by checking out what is on the MAIN screen you can see all the other things that have been selected to go with MAIN VARIATION A and bring them into the mix as the mood takes you.
MAIN VARIATION A
(Only R1 is selected)
DX Pad is a VOICE I haven’t come across before and I quite like that .. so will be using this to play the song. It’s from Legacy, Pad. I also like using a LEFT HAND VOICE, and Mmh (from CHOIR) is a new one to me .. so will be using that as well. As I normally do when using a LEFT HAND VOICE I have switched the PAD PART of the Style to OFF (via CHANNEL ON/OFF) as this is usually where ‘continuous’ sounds are programmed into Styles .. and these always conflict with the one I am using.
MAIN VARIATION B will switch the setup to 2 .. etc.
MAIN VARIATION B
(Only R1 is selected)
MAIN VARIATION C
(Only R1 is selected)
MAIN VARIATION D
(R1 and R2 are both selected)
Have a listen to how these four OTS choices sound ‘as is’ (Note: the Left Hand Voice is not selected at all).
I have recorded all four one after the other.

To play this song I have set up a REGISTRATION MEMORY BANK, so for starters I have pressed the MEMORY button and MEMORY 1 to get MAIN VARIATION A and the DX Pad from the OTS setup into MEMORY 1. Have upped the VOLUME of the BASS as I like to hear the bass.
MEMORY 1 is Chris’s INTRO III (no Left Hand Voice whilst this is playing).
MEMORY 2 I have added in the Left Hand Voice. The STYLE is MAIN VARIATION A (Tempo 140bpm); R1 is DX Pad to play the VERSE.
MEMORY 3 is as above, but I have changed the TEMPO from 140bpm to 130bpm to get a slight hesitation for the last two bars of the VERSE.
MEMORY 4 the STYLE is MAIN VARIATION B (Tempo 140); R1 is Concert Guitar to play the VERSE.
MEMORY 5 is as above, but I have changed the TEMPO from 140bpm to 130bpm to get a slight hesitation for the last two bars of the VERSE.
MEMORY 6 the STYLE is MAIN VARIATION C (Tempo 140); R1 is Ambient Piano and R2 is Dark Fat Saw played together for the CHORUS.
MEMORY 7 .. ENDING III (no Left Hand Voice whilst this is playing).
Oh What A Beautiful Morning
The Sheet Music for this is in Eb.
Oh What A Beautiful Morning (Eb).pdf (Size: 457.1 KB / Downloads: 1)
I find it easier to play this piece in F .. but it definitely sounds better a tone lower, in Eb. So I have TRANSPOSED my setup by -2 (as indicated by the Yellow arrow above).

Chris .. thanks for doing what you do in the Forum. You give me plenty of ideas for playing things .. and to have the STYLES included is a real bonus.
If anyone would like to download the Tyros 4 REGISTRATION BANK for this song it is in the Attachments below.
You will also need Chris's Oh What A Beautiful Morning STYLE which is also below.
Both these should be put into USER.
Hugh
PS. I have no idea why that sheet music above (which is clearly in Eb) shows the nomenclature for Bb ie. two flats .. and then having to put the Ab in as incidentals.
