3 AND 1/2 YEARS PROBLEM SOLVED

I have never gotten Modulation to work as intended with the Pa5X; especially when using Carlos Guitar, unwanted effects would occur when I least expected it.

This has ruined countless recordings.
No matter what I tried, I couldn't get rid of the problem, and I have never had this with any other arrangers/synths.

Until today, when I read one of Hugh Wallington's excellent articles about MegaVoices. 

I have never liked MegaVoices, because they are often tied to Aftertouch, which with my playing style often gives unwanted effects.

It also occurred to me that Korg DNC voices are quite similar to MegaVoices, and if they were tied to Aftertouch in the same way, then it should be possible to solve the problem by disabling Aftertouch ?

After some searching, I found out how, and it's sick that I haven't seen this in all the time I've had the Pa5X.

In SETTINGS > CONTROLLERS it is possible to turn Aftertouch OFF, and when I did that, Carlos Guitar behaved the way I want.

So now I can finally play the way I want - WITHOUT Aftertouch..!

Thanks for that.

I'm sure there are more people than me who can't stand Aftertouch.

I insist on assigning all relevant effects to a button or pedal, so that I have full control over when they are activated or not.

It's almost a bit strange to note that when Korg launched Nautilus WITHOUT Aftertouch, there were wild protests, and they almost immediately made a version WITH Aftertouch.

My Grandstage X, which I will soon receive, fortunately does not have Aftertouch.
