Bio: I am a 'self taught' home organ and keyboard player. Many years ago I played piano in a couple of 'bands' (one a Scottish Country Dance Band). We all had the chords of the piece we were playing written out in front of us, and as a result I have never felt the need to 'read music'. People say I 'play by ear', but a better description would be that I 'play by chords'.

I posted this elsewhere in the forum on 21st August 2025, but as it pretty well sums up everything I want to say about our forum on our 10th Anniversary I am posting it again here.

What is a Forum? It is not a Social Media platform where people air their views and reply with general ‘chit-chat’. A Forum is a well organised work space, and when it’s a MUSIC Forum you have the added benefit of being able to listen to what is being discussed. You can also download material that will be useful for when playing your keyboard. You can’t do any of this when subscribing to a magazine!
