PA5X: REVIEW AFTER 17 MONTHS OF USE

After working intensively with effects almost every day for a long time, I have to state that Korg has made extensive mistakes as far as basic mixing is concerned.

One of the most serious is that instead of reducing the level of all sounds to give the necessary power to another, they increase the level of the weak one all the way to 127, plus they use (too many) effects.
This results in audible distortion, also because several of the selected effects affect each other negatively.

I have found several styles where almost all levels are set to 127, and almost all tracks have one and the same type of EQ filter as Insert effect.
It turns out that this large amount of EQ filters effectively sabotages the use of other effects, as unintended effects occur almost regardless of the choice of effect and its parameter adjustment.

Since the later Tyros series, it has been Yamaha that has been the worst of all when it comes to mixing, but Korg has done at least as bad mixing with the Pa5X.

It shouldn't be the case that almost all internal styles have to be edited to be the way they should be.
This involves months of work, plus the necessary knowledge must be acquired and learned.

Pa5X cannot therefore be recommended to anyone and everyone without reservation.
