Chello. Thank you, good video.
Most cabinet makers in UK use computerized cutting machines, all our cabinets were made this way.
Main befits are overall consistency.

I thought you might like this one.
It is very instructive to study all the processes, and I have used many of them as a cabinetmaker.
All this can also be done precisely with a simple overhand router manually if you make jigs for all the processes.

Very interesting and informative especially as i,m into making stuff myself---how he used the router to cut the speaker hole
---i have a router myself but it,s not as simple as that to use without a good learning curve!!!!!!---note---he used a jig!!!!!
I,ll add to the post----------Most of the stuff i.ve made has been from 20mm plywood---good sturdy stuff but VERY heavy
especially when using a lot---and 12 inch speakers/hf units----painted with matt black---easy to retouch when it gets
damaged---as invaribly it will---Wheels help!!!

It is impressive to see how dust-free the sawing of MDF takes place.
With simple equipment, MDF is a nightmare to work with as far as dust is concerned, but this is clearly possible to solve effectively with larger production machines.
I don't use MDF because there is too much dust that settles everywhere.
Incidentally, MDF is unsuitable acoustically in my opinion, as it is not dense enough; waterproof chipboard is better suited.

BBC Monitors...Harbeth/Spendor/Rogers (so BBC contractors) used PLYWOOD from 8mm in two way monitors to 12 mm for larger boxes.
BBC designed speakers prefered flexible cabinets.
At home over time I had BBCLS35/A...BBCLS5/9 & Spender BC1.
Very happy with all three models.

Plywood is, in my opinion, the best of all, but demanding to work with.
It can be dressed with e.g. Respatex, and thus achieve an extremely durable finish.
I had the pleasure of a pair of Rogers LS35/A's for a while and these performed better than anything else I had access to at the time.
One of my first speaker designs was inspired by this model.
