SECOND DIMENSION IN SOUND ACHIEVED
I have said a little earlier about ongoing projects with my horns (Angel Wings).
The first part is now complete, which consisted of connecting the horns and the old main speakers in a quadrophonic set-up.
This turned out to be more work than I anticipated, because I have very little space for everything, and it is very difficult to do anything, because there is no room to maneuver.
It helps to be soft in the body, an ability that diminishes with age; but i can still do things 20 year olds can't do but i can't wrap my legs around my neck anymore lol.
To the case:
Although there is almost no level on the horns compared to the main speakers, the perspective was even better than before - even the Red Hot Chili Peppers end up in the middle with a wide soundstage.
RHCD has very dynamic recordings, but is distinctly stereo, and almost impossible to get centered towards the middle.
The bass that was missing with my new baffles is now back and everything is much more dynamic than before.
The perspective can be further improved by placing the main speakers a little further back, because these require much less power than the horns.
Alternatively, it should be tested whether everything can be connected in the opposite direction; that the horns are connected normally, while the main speakers are connected quadraphonically.
My intuition tells me that this will work better, because the main speakers will thus get a spatial sound similar to the horns.
Everything works as I had hoped anyway.
I'm also upgrading my Philips horn tweeters, and I'm almost done.
New horns have been acquired earlier (30cm in diameter), and I have inserted L-Pads into the connection terminals, so that the level can be adjusted.
All loudspeakers are also now equipped with double terminals - the Philips horns can thus be connected freely.
Pictures will be presented when everything is completely finished.

SURREALISTIC..!
I connected the opposite, and have a hard time believing what I'm hearing:
There is almost no sound from the main speakers, but when I listen close to them the sound is delayed, quite in the same way as when the Reverb Room is used too strongly on the Pa5X.
In the listening position, on the other hand, this is perceived as a more airy perspective, without any negative consequences.
One thing is even stranger, because now the horns have much more powerful bass than before, much like the main speakers.
I have no precise explanation as to why this is so - I have tried many strange things over 40 years, but this breaks all records.
Everything is also more detailed than before, especially the midrange and upper bass, but everything is actually more detailed.
The experience is much the same as with Ambient Drums on the Pa5X - but ambience is added to the entire soundscape.
This very similarity made me play through recordings I've made with the Pa5X, and the shock was unreal:
The Pa5X now sounds even better than before.
I can hardly wait to connect the Philips horns to the main speakers, because these are extremely effective.
