YAMAHA MODX M8 ORDERED

   


I've been on the phone since yesterday, and have managed to get a MODX M8.

I used my influence as an admin for the forum, and the synth is being sent from Yamaha to 4Sound, which takes about 10 days, plus a few days from there to me.

I have a request with Yamaha Norway to buy the demo model from 4Sound, and if they agree to this, it will be shipped immediately.


I was right when I said that the new MODX M will be difficult to get hold of - there are only 4 MODX (M8) for demo in Norway, and this is the only model in stock at Yamaha Norway - the M6 and M7 have been postponed several times, now until December at the latest.

After reading this forum and watching tons of Youtube videos I also ordered a MODX this week, a M6. Here in the Netherlands I can pick it up in about 1 or two weeks.
I think it's a good deal. You'll get a lot of Montage M features for just over a third of the price.

You are welcome to write a review about your experiences with the M6 - I am particularly curious about its keybed, but I think it is much better than the Pa5X 76's.

Yamaha declined my request to purchase the demo model.

This is completely understandable, because the MODX M is a groundbreaking product that must be available in demo rooms at all times for some time to come.

I must therefore expect to have to wait up to a couple of more weeks before I receive my order.
