Without knowing it, I've ended up with exactly the same conditions that he recommends.
When I designed my horns, I moved these around the room while making changes to the horn's design, and ended up with the same placement.
My setup is only different in terms of the distance from Listener's Head to the wall behind, which is very small, plus I have a sloping roof behind the speakers.
In my experiments' experience, the pitched roof has the unique function of forming a stage, and all problems with standing waves are effectively eliminated.
If I reverse the layout, the perspective completely disappears - the soundscape becomes dead.
