TEST OF STYLE CREATOR BOT FOR PA700
(Previously published on Chellos Song Styles)
This integrated software was first launched with Pa4x, and was also made available for the Pa700.
Already at the launch I was very critical - I had at that time some experience with creating styles from midi with Style Works, and knew how many mistakes this made, even though it is ranked as the world's best for the purpose.
I now have over 6 years of experience with Style Works, and am even more critical regarding Style Creator Bot than before.
For the test itself, I used 3 midi files (songs) of high quality (70, 81 and 124kB), all from one of the world's best producers, intended for Pa800.
The process is very simple and very fast - everything is done in a few seconds, and the style is ready for use after storage.
I have previously made styles for all 3 songs with the same and other (and smaller) midi files with Style Works and got a good result.
All styles created with Style Creator Bot contain serious errors and omissions; 2 of the styles begin and end in the wrong key, one lacks the bass sound, and the other two have the bass instrument incorrectly placed in the place where the percussion should be.
The sound is awful.
To verify how lousy Style Creator Bot actually is, I opened the same 3 midi files in Style Works, after first correcting the key for 2 of them in Anvil Studio.
With Style Works, it was no problem to create superb styles from these midi files.
So hey there, Korg - you call the Style Creator Bot "State of the Art", but have no idea what you're doing.
Take a course with Klaus Geller at EMC!
Even the world's best software - EMC Style Works - is not able to create a single flawless style from midi - I have let Style Works generate tens of thousands of styles, but all had to be corrected manually afterwards.
The conclusion is crystal clear:
This software is completely useless.
