TEST OF KORG PA5X 76 - PART 4; TESTING OF DISK CONNECTION
After installing close to 50 SETs taken from Korg's website, I found that it was time to try to reorganize all styles to keep some overview, as well as to increase accessibility by reducing the number of folders.
Pa5X has a slightly different connection to PC than what is usual, as this can only be used for file management.
It couldn't be easier:
Pressing FILE and then MENU shows a screen with ENABLE/DISABLE as well as the desired Device for viewing.
The connection is instantaneous, very different from previous Pa models, which took quite a long time to connect.
The computer's screen shows this image, after I rearrange the content a bit:
The folders showing genre are part of my reorganization.
All installed folders have the extension .KST after importing.
Self-created folders have no designation, while styles have .stg in new folders.
One thing that is immediately noticed is the file size - this one ranges from well over 100kB to 655kB, which is the largest I've found, and is from Pa4X original.
So all files are about 10 times larger than normal, and the size exceeds anything else I've seen.
My edits have not resulted in any problems and everything happens instantly.
I also want to find out how many files each folder can contain, and this will be enlightened when I know it.
Conclusion:
This Disk Connection certainly works better than ever before and is a must after imoporting many SETs.
