SHORT TEST: STEINBERG UR22C SOUND CARD

SHORT TEST: STEINBERG UR22C SOUND CARD

PREFACE:
This card has a painful history:
I first bought one that turned out to be a return from a customer.
The card was badly scraped on the back and didn't work at all with software.
I was refunded the purchase price and bought a new one from another store.

The UR22 is a well-known model, and one of the most popular, but this one has USB C connectivity.

I have read many blogs that show that many have problems with this model.

CONNECTION:
One thing that is particularly annoying about Steinberg's models is that they have connection for Line In in the front - and only there.
This causes the plugs to close for access to the potentiometers, which are small and difficult to regulate - without plugs connected.

SOUND QUALITY:
The first sound card worked analogue, and was tested with DGX-670.
It was absolutely impossible to get clean sound, no matter how I regulated it.

The second sound card produced clean sound at low level with Pa5X, but after a while distortion occurred, just like with the one tested with DGX-670.
After a few hours, the distortion rose more and more, even though I adjusted all volumes downwards.
Finally, the main volume did not work at all - volume locked at maximum with an impatiently high distortion.

The end of this adventure is 2 broken soundcards of the same model in a short time.

CONCLUSION:
It should be understandable that I do not recommend anyone to buy this model.
Shared knowledge provides increased knowledge
If we all share everything we have, we all have everything
Every theory is only a hypothesis until it is practically proven
