Korg Pa700 Six Years On…

Korg Pa700 Six Years On.
—————————————-

Here is my review of the Korg Pa700 of ownership.

I purchased my Korg Pa700 in 2017 which I am told was one of the first to enter the UK.

Six years has passed and I can honestly say it’s a brilliant arranger, yes it’s the entry level model of the range but it’s by no means less powerful.

As you learn how to do things on the Pa700 it grows with you every day there is something new to learn or try out.

With Korg Arrangers you can edit everything from the ground up if you so wish and you can customise everything as well.

Resources there is plenty of extra resources available including styles and new sounds that can be installed.

The sound from the internal speakers is excellent with the opportunity to customise the master Eq settings according to what environment your playing in. Again you can adjust individual sounds to your liking.

If your thinking about purchasing as Korg Pa700 I can highly recommend it.

You won’t regret it.

Thank you for sharing your experiences with the Pa700 with us.

Although this is an entry level arranger, there is nothing entry-like about it.
It has functions like no other in its price range, and the keybed is actually far better than both the Pa3X and Pa4X, which otherwise have identical keybeds.

As far as I know, the Pa700 has no competition in its price range, and offers more functions than what Yamaha offered on its S models at double the price.

The thing is even though people say the isn’t as much in the way of resources out there for Korg Arrangers, in comparison to Yamaha. If you you sit down and look there is quite a lot from the Bonusware and other third party styles.

Whilst the Pa700 has a limited storage space for samples, pretty much all my user banks are full, you just have to learn to be selective about what sounds you install and remember to backup frequently. Also don’t forget to compress any new sounds you have installed.

The thing is even though people say the isn't as much in the way of resources out there for Korg Arrangers, in comparison to Yamaha. If you sit down and look there is quite a lot from the Bonusware and other third party styles.

It has always been claimed that Korg Pa offers less than Yamaha and others, but this is in no way correct, because ALL Pa models can use Korg's Bonusware with perfect results, and neither Yamaha nor others can offer anything similar.

Anyone who has a Yamaha can try to install styles and other things from another model, and see for themselves how badly this works - it requires an infinite number of tweaks made by the user.
Korg's Bonusware is Plug&Play.
Yamaha has software that Korg does not, although it is not Yamaha that produces most of it.

While the Pa700 has a limited storage space for samples, pretty much all my user banks are full, you just have to learn to be selective about what sounds you install and remember to backup frequently. Also don't forget to compress any new sounds you have installed.

With an internal memory capacity of 960 MB, the Pa700 outclasses all of Yamaha's S series.
The Korg Pa700 also has particularly comprehensive and complete manuals, while Yamaha's S models in many cases completely omit technical specifications.

Thanks for the response like all of us here it’s bit of a labour of love, a lot of time has passed from 0 to now, everything evolves on a daily basic as you take on board something you have learned or even if you try something as an experiment.

A lot of people knock the Pa700 and give up on it, but if you’re prepared to put the time and effort It does pay off.
