PRODUCTION OF KORG KRONOS DISCONTINUED

Korg has now officially made a statement that they will not produce more Kronos.
It has thus also been confirmed that Nautilus is Kronos' successor.

It will be interesting to see what succeeds Pa4X - I think the design will be a lot like Nautilus; that all sliders are omitted.
In any case, there is a trend in the time ahead that the use of buttons will be minimized, and that their functions will be replaced by a touch screen.

We'll see if I'm right.


Imagine if Korg makes Pa5X with Nautilus' design, and uses more than 1 sound engine ...
All competitors would have been outclassed.

A lot of people have high expectations of what the next generation Korg Arranger will bring to the table. But the thing is once it is released Genos will be old technology. A lot of Organ / Keyboard Players seem to be moving to Korg. Probably because it’s the difference between playing with / without a straight jacket. Even entry level Korg Arrangers new and old give you the opportunity to edit from the ground up.

You have one foot in each camp, as I have always had.
I believe that we who have this see reality differently than those who are pure yammies or korgies.
It is a fact that users have left Yamaha in favor of Korg for a number of years, which started long before Genos saw the light of day.

I also believe that users' expectations that new models will have even more features is a derailment, much because the years ahead will force through a global recession - the world economy will have major problems in the years ahead.
This in turn will force manufacturers to become minimalist in order to survive, and there is already a desperate shortage of materials.

Models that are expensive to produce will be left out in favor of cheaper ones, and the number of models will be reduced.

Korg has always given users full freedom of editing, while Yamaha seems to give less of this for each model they launch.


If Korg plays their cards sensibly, they will take over even more of the market, at Yamaha`s expense.

But as I always say even a cheap Casio can be made to sound good in the right hands you could spend £10,000 on a top of the line Arranger and it sounds crap and £100 on a cheap Arranger and it sounds brilliant. Most people never give enough time getting to know how to use what they have. For example a car it’s ok just to drive it but it’s even more helpful if you know about the mechanics of your car even if it’s just the basics.

Another question does a £100 Glen Miller Sound, Sound better than a £10000 Glen Miller Sound ?

You're absolutely right.
I have not until recently started to go deeper into things that have a great influence on the sound and how it is reproduced, and have made several great discoveries.

My latest arranger, the A3000, is a prime example.
By loading SF2 sounds, I got better sound on this than what I had on Genos, which is more than twice as expensive.

In addition to the ability to load SF2 sounds, a good parametric EQ is of great importance for possible sound quality, and here Pa3X is the best of all arrangers on the market.
I can say with reasonable certainty that when I one day buy an arranger as a supplement to Nautilus, this will be a Pa3X Pro or the successor to Pa4X.
