Since the opportunity to play in front of a physical audience has been heavily restricted due the the Pandemic I have been working other ways to get heard or even noticed. I have a presence on Facebook which gets reasonable feedback as does by YouTube channel which is slowly growing.
Recently I jumped onto the bandwagon and signed up to TikTok which I initially thought was full of people doing silly dances etc this is not the case with many businesses using it as a platform to promote or sell.
But since posting some videos of me playing music (Which can be up to 3 minutes) i seem to have a new audience from many different age groups which you wouldn’t think would be interested in Arranger Keyboards.
I now have over 4000 followers a whole new audience.
Something positive may have come from this events of the last two years.

@musicalmemories
I personally know many who are in your situation in my immediate area.
The vast majority have done the same as you, with varying degrees of success.
You are lucky to have managed to get so many followers, and maybe this period can bring something positive with it, as musicians become more aware of the opportunities that exist to get their music out to a wide audience.

That’s fact that there’s an audience in a broad spectrum of age groups and people that maybe have never heard of arranger keyboard’s is a good thing.
The chances of a new musician serving there apprenticeship and learning stagecraft is incredibly slim in this day and age. Whilst not a captive audience it’s good to get feedback or some description.
As this stage I’m not earning a crust from it but who knows I’m learning that as your presence grows on one platform it has a knock on effect on others. I know I will never play on huge arenas etc but will see where it leads.
Maybe the Arranger Keyboard companies need to focus on this new audience.
No I’m fully self contained, it’s ok working with a band until you have a fall out or a member doesn’t show up. This way the only person I can sack is myself lol.
As to the legality with using other peoples material it’s at your discretion but how many giging musicians actually have permission to perform covers of songs.
