More on layering sounds
#1

Think when ever you layer sounds you have the Anchor (lead) something that carries the melody

Next Body

The body is something that complements the anchor not duplicate what is already does

Only when you are satisfied with the Anchor and Body do you move on to support

Support

Support is functional, not expressive. It reinforces harmony, grounding, or continuity. You should miss it when it’s muted, but never notice it when it’s playing. If you’re debating whether it’s “too interesting,” it already is.

Finally Air

Air is decoration, space, and dimension. It reacts to the combined anchor+body system, not to either one alone. That’s why choosing air early almost always leads to clutter — you’re adding sparkle before you’ve built the object it’s meant to highlight.
