WHY I AM PROVOKING WITH OS 1.4

The most important thing is that several important and extremely necessary functions still do not work.

A very important function is being able to adjust all tracks individually in all style elements, which is only possible with OS 1.2.1.


If all new styles had correct levels in all style elements this would not have been a problem, but when many of these have too high levels in the intro and ending, this cannot be corrected, because all elements are globally affected.

Some say that this can be fixed by adjusting Expression, but this is very wrong, because Expression does not work as a volume control, but an intensity control.


Until Korg fixes this (if they ever do), many new styles as well as styles created with the Style Creator Bot will appear amateurish.

Korg should (and must) fix all bugs, and stop adding new features before the ones that are already there work !!!

I totally agree with what you say Chello,but its a double end sword.
Complaints about missing features have driven korg to rush some features and miss the basics.
However i am even more certain the Pa5x is the best pound for pound keyboard out there.

Look at yamaha the G2 has faults that were on the G1, like unable to lock the sustain, having no edits available for multi pads no quantize,
Renaming voices and styles rather than make new ones.

Then they charge you twice as much for a 5% upgrade that could be achieved by expansion.
The part exchange value is ridiculously low and more and more retailers are refusing p/x for anything over 10 years old.

The new Kronos and Montage have very good reviews but for most are far too technical.

I hope in ten years time we can debate the merits of the latest generation of keyboards.

However i think we will discussing how good the keyboards were back in the day.

You are absolutely right.
Korg has not resisted the pressure, and has been tricked into spending resources on more features instead of fixing bugs.

The Pa5X is in a class of its own anyway; no one else offers as much for the money.

After all, Korg has created something groundbreaking with the Pa5X, while Yamaha has not done this at all with its Genos 2, which is even less functional than the Pa5X.

Kronos and Montage are intended for a minority of users who are more technically oriented.

I have already decided to acquire a Montage 7 as soon as this becomes financially possible, but will keep the Pa5X.

It is very possible that we have seen the best of what is produced, and that future products will represent a step backwards and be so expensive that only a few can afford them.
