JOYSTICKS AND THEIR QUALITY
I have tried several joysticks over time, but only one seems perfect: OASYS.
The Pa5X's joystick is NOT perfect, because it is a bit too heavy and imprecise to move, and it has noticeable mechanical noise when moved upwards - you hear and feel a spring being stretched.
It is experienced as imprecise when using modulation; it is all too easy to simultaneously move it sideways.
The Genos1's joystick is far too heavy to move, and has built-in stop points in the center for all positions, which can be felt and heard when you move it from left to right alternately - the sound gets an audible start/stop point.
It is very strange to note that a mid-range model like the A-3000 has a joystick that is MUCH better than the one on the Genos1 - it feels almost as good as the one on the OASYS.
The joysticks on the Pa800, Pa2X, Pa3X, Pa4X and Audya5 are all better than the one on the Pa5X.
Those on the Korg Krome, Nautilus and Kronos are almost as good as the one on the OASYS.
