THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSIC HAS STOPPED..?
#1
Question
THE DEVELOPMENT OF MUSIC HAS STOPPED..?

In my opinion, the history of music consists of golden periods, which were 1920 to 1960 for jazz, which has the longest period of development.
Next is the 1960s, which is also a good period, while the 1970s are known as the best of all.
Little happened in the 1980s, while 1990 opened up a new world of electronic music.

After this, nothing has really happened other than the same thing being repeated; nothing new has happened.

One can wonder what the reason could be, but I guess that digitization has most of the blame, even if this has meant that music development has become everyone's opportunity; Maybe this is the actual cause ?

Today, everyone has the opportunity to influence music's development, which is not necessarily good for music's further development.
Before, a musician had to have a certain talent to assert himself, whereas today only software and an internet connection are required.

Here is a period overview:
1920s - Jazz
1930s - Big bands, swing
1940s - Swing, big band, Latin and country
1950s - Rock & roll, doo-wop, pop, swing. rhythm & blues, country, rockabilly, jazz
1960s - Rock & roll, folk rock, rhythm & blues, antiwar music
1970s - Disco, funk, soul, R&B, smooth jazz, jazz fusion, punk rock
1980s - Soft rock, glam metal, trash metal, shred guitar, adult contemporary, quiet storm, smooth jazz.
1990s - Grunge, hip-hop, pop, electronic music, pop punk, R&B, grunge, alternative rock.

A lot of music today consists of samples of a hook / loop of a previously released song.

I’m pretty open to different genres of music apart from the heavy rock with people screaming down a microphone.

I think as long as you have a looper pedal or a number of decks waving your arms you make it in music.

Thanks for the reminder about using loops.
This has been used for many decades by many of the most successful groups, including ABBA, who have deliberately used loops from old classical music in their compositions.

The Grand Prix Music Contest is the most negative example, because the song that wins the next year's contest is based on all the previous ones.
This has nothing to do with music; business only.

I am afraid that this is only the beginning of a negative development, as artificial intelligence (AI) is guaranteed to be used for the same purpose.

This also applies to musical instruments, which are increasingly being added to AI so that everyone can perform much better than before.

AI can be a wonderful tool used correctly, but the world's mediocre "musicians" are lining up to abuse it.
