Yes as mentioned before we might use a lot of reverb at home when using headphones to create some atmosphere for particular sound(s). But if you was to record a play these sounds through a speaker system or your car it would probably sound like your drowning in reverb (way too wet).

The point the videos make is making the sound good whatever device you’re using, be it laptop speakers, cheap headphones or hi end speaker system.

You when using arranger keyboard with effects, compressor’s etc etc we kind of obsess about the actual numbers within the parameters.

What if you couldn’t actually see the parameters with in a Eq just dials or sliders.

You would then have to rely more on your hearing and what does this dial do, or what does that slider do?

Like Andrew says learning to use your hearing is most important a listen to what each parameter does how it changes what your sound(s).

Just as when balancing your sounds how everything sits together.
