Im just not feeling it today
#1
Do you sometimes go to sit at your arranger keyboards and think im just not feeling it today, or the excitement you had in the past has gone.

As much as I enjoy working and creating on arranger keyboards there are times I think I just can’t be bothered today.

You know when i had the Pa5x and Genos on load I would normally be like a kid in a sweet shop have the top models, not saying they’re not excellent arrangers but I just didn’t get the enthusiasm I used to.

Is anyone else feeling the same about arranger’s?

I've had it like this for years, but feel that the tendency towards decreasing exitement has increased after everything was digitized.

More and more often I find that when I listen to a style, I hear that the instruments have different types of acoustics assigned; and not just the wrong amount.
To over-dramatize: It sounds like one instrument is playing in a large room, while another is playing in a hall, which are VERY different acoustically.

The strange thing is that the brain perceives this (psychoacoustics), even if YOU do not.

This can result in listening fatigue, because the brain rejects it.

Perhaps it might be an idea to try your own earlier suggestion of disabling all acoustic effects, and only using Ambience with the Drum Editor..?

The reason I insist on using Ambience (NOT Reverb) only on drums is my experience as an audience member when groups have played together on a small stage in a small venue:
There was almost no acoustics from other instruments, while the drums ALWAYS had too much acoustics that had to be muted.

With this in mind, it strikes me that the right thing to do is to give acoustics only to the drums, and leave the rest alone.

And my midi for style edits confirm this, because they actually often sound better unedited.

Maybe worth a try..?
