Has everyone in Arranger Keyboard Land Gone To Sleep?
#11
@Barrie T

Thanks for your informative interesting post.
MIDI 2 has already been tried to be launched, yes, and Roland has produced hardware with MIDI 2.
The problem is that the rest of the industry has to follow, as you say.

My history with MIDI is much like yours - I started well in 1998 with Win95 and a Casio keyboard, which worked easily and logically together.
Later, MIDI has become more and more difficult to get working, and today I avoid most MIDI configurations.

Negative feedback is probably one of the worst things a musician can experience, and I myself have had negative experiences when, for example, I have played for dinner guests - they often complained that I was too engaged, and had to tone it down.
An audience is made up of all kinds of people, and sometimes they are made up of people who should have stayed at home.

I have also experienced being criticized by professional musicians for my playing technique, but fortunately I have many positive experiences with spontaneous performances together with many of the best musicians in Norway - I have had many guest appearances.

I've have played all kinds of music in new ways, which the audience doesn't always like.
Cover songs are not my thing.

There will always be an audience that likes my way of making music, but unfortunately it is rarely possible to choose the audience yourself.

Hi All,

I personally like midi and there is so much you can do with , I think that arrangers will go much more software orientated, my experience of Varranger is mostly positive  but its certainly not a sit and play way to go at least not for me anyway, the sx600 I have just bought has arrived and I must say that for £620 english ponds you get a lot for your money and while its not a top of the range keyboard it's certainly a very capable keyboard and am looking forward to getting to grips with it, its amazing just how much you can forget about arranger keyboards in the 3 years I have been away from them.

Im kind of like you at one point i was doing 3 bookings a day, after i had my hotel residency.

Diary was full, but since the pandemic things have dwindled.

But just because your not using your Tyros for bookings dosnt stop you working on it or playing for pleasure.

Why not do some recordings of your perfomances and share on the forum.

@yves

Thanks for your entertaining comment.
Your example is worth following, because you say clearly who you are and what you do and why.

please let other people do what they want...

I have always done (only) what I want, and refuse to do anything else.
I do things because I like what I do.
We all have something to contribute, and you contribute effectively with your comments, thus fulfilling a fundamental function - activity.
