HOW TO GIVE PERSPECTIVE TO YOUR STYLES - MY DESIRE VISION
What I want to say now may be on the edge of what is theoretically correct in many people's opinion, but it is nevertheless my experience over many years in HiFi.
About 30 years ago I really enjoyed a program from Microsoft:
You could enter a song and all instruments were visually visible on a stage.
Each instrument could be moved freely around the stage and the sound changed; the perspective changed only for this one instrument.
When you moved an instrument sideways, the same thing happened as with keyboard panning.
When you moved an instrument backwards or forwards, the same thing happened as when you change the amount of ambience for drums on the keyboard.
Panning on a keyboard is easily done by sliding the slider from L - 64 to R + 63
So correcting the perspective sideways is easy with the slider, but backwards or forwards have no slider.
Imagine if there was a slider for this too, which could vary the amount of ambience..?
Unfortunately, it is much more difficult to correct the perspective backwards or forwards, because this must be done using reverb effects.
If this effect could have been adjusted with a slider as shown, everything would have become significantly easier.
The best and most correct thing in my opinion would have been for the slider to adjust each instrument's amount of genuine ambience, because this is far more believable and easier to work with than reverb effects, which are all artificial.
Many internal instruments already have genuine ambience, so why not make this available like for AMB and RR drum kits in the Drum Editor ?
Sound Editor has no possibility to adjust the ambience for instruments - understand that for those who can.
The very best would have been if this was also made available with a slider.
It would also have been a good solution to use existing physical sliders for this task, which is entirely possible with a future update.
