HOW TO EASILY REMOVE NOISES IN DRUM KITS

This is a well-known problem for converted styles, and especially for styles based on the XG format, which have extended parameters that cannot be substituted with GM or others.

To put it simply:
It is impossible to completely edit parameters that cannot be found.

I have read many articles written by "bright minds" describing ways to remove noise from drum kits, and they are all time consuming, but never give a 100% effective result.
For this, complex external programs are used that require all your time and expertise.

I have found another way:
Korg Pa models such as the Pa4X and Pa5X have a built-in Drum Editor.

With this you can easily locate which drum element is causing the noise, and turn down the volume only for this one.

As simple as this, the problem can be solved - the noise disappears 100%, and everything can be done in a few minutes.
Alternatively, you can add an extra drum kit, where you compensate for the element that has been omitted.
I have done this with many styles, which now all work without noise from drum kits.
Shared knowledge provides increased knowledge

Hi,
This topic is old, but I have 3 ideias about it:
1 - Since the idea is to use the internal drums of PA5X (that sound a bit different from the original Yamaha Genos for example), one idea would be to remap some PA drum kits following the maps of the Genos drum kits for example. It is not difficult. I actually tested it creating the Genos Standard Kit  adjusting one of the PA5X kits. My main dount is to select the most similar drum kit to acheive the best result.  The Standard Kit of Genos is the base for some other kits, with just the adjustments of some drums. So I can easy create the Rock kit and the Symphony kit for exemple (still didn't do it).  With some time it would be possible to recreate all the Genos drumkits using the deum sounds of PA5X. Although they won't sound the same ans some sounds will miss, they will work and play the converted styles with no issues.  It is a lot of work but it is definitive and will work with all converted styles if we create most of the GENOS Drums using the PA samples in the user drums. The advantage is the possibility of using the multi layer internal drum samples from PA5X.
2 - Second idea is to sample the original kits of Genos. I own a VST with almost all Genos 1 Drum kits and I samples 3 of them and they worked well, but they don't have velocity layers, so it will work fine but I don't like the idea of adding many samples and don't reach a good results.
3 - The third idea is to use the Event Editor in the style editor and locate the  specific notes that generate the noises. Usually there will be 2, 3 or 4.  Using the Drum maps lost from Genos and also the one from the PA5X, it would be possible to link the correct note of the drum sample in the PA5X that correspond to the note of the original drum kit from sample, so it would be possible to use the transpose note of a specific note in all style parts at once, to move note that is making noise to the correct position of the PA5X drum kit. This one wil be good since anyone will be able to play the style directly without the needing of having to select a specific user drum kit.
I intend to work more in ome of these 3 ideas and alredy tested them.
Option 1 - I have created the Genos Standard kit Drum Map but didn't test the drumkit yet very well.  I'm not sure If I selected the best base drumkit to adjust.
Option 2 - I have created 3 sampled drum kits as a test.  They form fine but don't sound special since they have just 1 layer.
