HOW MUCH MIXING IS NECESSARY

Many people spend hours or days mixing a single style.

I don't.
Why not ?

Because I'm all about achieving the most by doing the least.
That's why I always try to find the best source file possible first and foremost, and avoid those that aren't good enough.

I'm also convinced that all processes related to creation should be done as quickly as possible, because creative processes work best with the intuition of the moment.

Drawing is a good example; too much thinking and slow pace force the left brain to dominate the choices, while intuition and fast pace force the right brain to dominate the choices, which gives far better results.
Working with woodcarving is something of the same.

My very best sound creations ever have all been done in a very short time.
Mixing sound for a style usually takes me 20-30 minutes, all work included, while the actual mixing takes about 10 minutes.
The rest of the time is spent checking that everything is working properly.

The most important thing for me is to adjust the drum kit and bass as well as the levels, then finding the best suitable reverb for the ACCs, which is usually done by choosing the pre-set reverb that fits best.

My goal is always to achieve the most natural sound possible with the least possible reverb, but which still feels like live.

All of this is done as quickly as possible.
