GDPR AND ITS SIGNIFICANCE

   

In Norway, I am experiencing more and more violations of this law.
I have had several cases with Netflix, which I previously subscribed to.

A few years ago, I switched internet provider to AltiBox, which offers Netflix for free via earned points.
My existing Netflix customer relationship was then transferred to AltiBox.

When I later switched Netflix to another channel using points, my bank account was automatically charged with a new period with Netflix.

So to the point:
It is not possible to terminate the Netflix customer relationship; only the current period - all data remains and cannot be removed by the customer.
Bank card information cannot be deleted either.
This is a serious violation of GDPR, which requires the company to give customers the opportunity to delete all personal data.

Recently, the same thing happened again, and it is also impossible to communicate with Netflix via email or chat.
I therefore had to contact AltiBox, but they refused to help, until I threatened to report them for violating GDPR.

So I got my money back (again), but this is not good enough, because the same thing will happen again if I switch channels to Netflix and after a while switch back.


I am therefore considering reporting both Netflix and AltiBox to the European Data Protection Board for violating GDPR.

By the way, this forum follows the GDPR and its legislation.
