By the way - I can not help but notice his special fingering; he uses an imaginary line when he presses the keys - about 1/3 inside the keybed.
Have never seen this before.

He has a very well-practiced systematic and thoughtful fingering.

Chello. I think what you are saying is the 3 middle fingers are playing more forward on the keys than the 2 outside fingers.

If you hold your hand/fingers as if holding a tennis ball, your 3 middle fingers are more forward...I play in the same way.

Something like that, yes.
His 3 middle fingers mostly have their hit point on the red line.

   

I now see that several trained pianists have the same fingering - I just have not noticed it before as clearly as in this case.
