Do you ever go back to any of your older arrangers (if you still have them) and think we’ll actually they wasn’t that bad or sound that bad ?
Do they sound better than you remember ?

Technics kn series had some great styles, I also enjoyed my Tyros 1, the thing missing from most keyboards is good amplification, Chello`s would probably have the best due to knowledge but its amazing the difference the quality improves like when i had Bose l1 s on the genos and the sound quality on cvp709

@Musical Memories
Interesting questions you ask, which should be thought about several times over the years.
Fortunately, I've done a lot of recordings with different keyboards/synths I've had that I've taken care of.
In between I listen to these, and get confirmation of my choices and why.
Oddly enough, my original stance on what is good or bad has never changed in particular - the recordings verifies my decisions.
For example, I have recordings with Tyros1, Tyros4 and Tyros5, and Tyros1 is clearly the best of these, with a much more open soundstage, plus I remember that the keybed was better.
I also have recordings of Pa2X, Pa3X, Pa4X and Pa5X, while Pa5X is definitely the best.
As for the Pa series, I can state that my memory/judgment has failed, as I always perceived the Pa3X as the best until the Pa5X, when in fact it was the Pa2X that was the best of the previous models, and the Pa3X the worst.
I also missed Kronos a bit, because this is far better than what I experienced; at the same time, I can state that the Pa5X is better than the Kronos in many sounds, but the Kronos is the king of acoustic pianos, even though the Pa5X uses exactly the same samples.
Why ?
Because the Kronos has a dedicated sound engine for acoustic pianos, something the Pa5X doesn't.
Another and very important factor for correct assessment of previous keyboards' sound quality is to take into account the amplifier and speakers used, which often change over the years.
That is precisely why I use recordings as a final reference, because I can then play everything through the same amplifier and speakers, which in return are far better today than they were with the first keyboard.
As a verdict - my first keyboard today sounds terrible.
After all, there has been some development in keyboards, but I would still argue that time has stood still for 25 years, until the Pa5X came along.
