DGX670 Style Editing...(Chello) HELP Required.

Chello. DGX670 Style Editing. I would like your help please.
I'm still having problems saving an edited style. 
Did you produce a listing of procedures ?.
1. starting with Pressing Style Creator to make it active.
2. Press Mixer/EQ.
3. ..etc: etc:. 

I thought i had it sorted after speaker to Steve at Yamaha.

Here`s MY way:
HOW TO DO:

1. Open the current style
2. Press MIXER / EQ
3. Make the edits you want in Volume / Pan, Filter, Effect, EQ, Master EQ and Compressor.
Make sure this is done in the desired area; Panel, External, Style, etc.
4. When edits are done, press MENU/Style Creator/Enter/Current Style/Exit.
5. Press Groove at the top, then Save and Save again, select name and OK.

Your edited and saved style is automatically added to User, but you can of course copy it to a USB stick.

I only use Steve`s way when I only have to edit a single Main, e.g.


HOW TO DO:

1. Open the current style
2. Press MENU/Style Creator
3. Press MIXER / EQ
4. For example, press Main A so that the window for selecting a part (Section) opens.
Scroll down to Fill In A and press OK.
5. Make the edits you want in Volume / Pan, Filter, Effect, EQ, Master EQ and Compressor.
Make sure this is done in the desired area; Panel, External, Style, etc.
6. Press EXIT twice.
7. Press Save twice.

8. To edit Fill In B and other desired Fills, repeat steps 4 through 7, but be sure to enter Fill In B in step 4.
Repeat process 4 through 7 until all desired edits are done.

Your edited and saved style is automatically added to User, but you can of course copy it to a USB stick.

Chello. Your List Appreciated.

So you follow style editing as we have always done on previouse arrangers... and not as Yamaha suggested.

Steve At Yamaha stated to Select Style Creator first making it active.
Then mixe/EQ to make Style alterations.
Then EXIT put you bsck into Style Creator.

I phoned Yamaha custome Support this morning but Steve was not available.
Steve is the only one to get any good input from due to his years of know how..

For the most part, I follow the old fashioned way - yes.
This gives the same edit to all parts.

But if it's about editing only a single part, this must be done in Steve`s way.
Note that his way starts with Style Creator, while mine starts with Mixer / EQ.

Chello. OK fully understood...Will check Style Editing this weekend.

I'm getting on well with RGT's but the down side as you have aleardy stated is having to keep the styles for the RGT's in one place and not moved.

PS. Why are we the only two interested ?.

I'm getting on well with RGT's but the down side as you have aleardy stated is having to keep the styles for the RGT's in one place and not moved.

As far as I can see, all changes in the right section sounds (and OTS) must be saved in RGT format, as none of the known methods from previous models work as we are used to with DGX.

I'm still working on trying alternatives, because I prefer to save OTS in the style itself.

I also wonder about this, because our project with Style Editing affects everyone who has a Yamaha as they make an edit.
I have a hard time believing that all our members play on their keyboard without editing, and I have to say that I am amazed at their lack of participation.

My mother always said: Give, and you will receive.

I read with interest these posts although as you know own a Tyros4 and any tips to carry over to that.

Incidentally it’s frustrating when people don’t join in or participate in conversations, I sometimes think am  I the only who gets pleasure out of spending day after tweaking end editing styles and sounds etc.

You are one of the few who likes to go deeper into things to understand them.

Whilst im happy to play I always want to learn more and go beyond just playing, yes I try to motivate people but sadly seems to fall on deaf ears, which is a shame.
